Tuesday, January 23
8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Mike Morris of the National Center for Appropriate Technology will start the day with a look at energy on the farm and an eye towards reducing energy use and increasing efficiency. Then join the “insider” bus tour showcasing Central Coast farms that use green energy and biofuels including Tom Broz’s Live Earth Farm and Phil Foster Ranch, home of Pinnacle Organics.

Wednesday, January 24
9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Penny Livingston and Steve Heckeroth will start the day the discussing how to use permaculture and green building to reduce energy costs and environmental impact. Many experienced presenters will explore expanding options in biofuels, and solar and wind power, and provide updates on current incentives and financing programs.
A reception will follow from 5:00 - 6:00 pm

The learning continues as the Ecological Farming Conference gets underway with a kickoff plenary talk by Richard Heinberg discussing the big picture of global energy resources.

Wednesday, January 24 - Saturday, January 27
The Ecological Farming Conference be taking place immediately following the pre-conference. Throughout the next three days, a wide range of workshops on energy related topics will be presented, including energy efficiency, solar power, biofuels, permaculture,
self-sufficiency, and fossil free landscaping.

Cost: $40 per day, or $75 for Tuesday and Wednesday; cost includes lunch, a comprehensive resource binder, reception, and admission to the Wednesday evening plenary session.
