Building a Socially Just Local Food System

Is there money to be made selling food in all communities? After all, everybody eats. And yet many poorer communities remain food insecure, despite the opportunities for business. Why should that be? To answer this question, we’ll hear from two different Bay Area organizations that are working on solutions—a for-profit cooperative farm and a non-profit urban farm-and-garden group. The two businesses have at least one thing in common: they have built relationships with their communities into the DNA of their organizations.
