While the theory behind CSAs is sound, the reality in current times is that a weekly box without choices does not meet everyone’s needs. CSA membership has been declining as a result. Some innovative farmers and their allies have adapted their programs to offer more choice and be more convenient and appealing to members. Some have expanded into bakeries, restaurants, and other venues. This will be a frank look at whether these community-based approaches are viable for the future with plenty of input from the audience.
