We all know that one of the hardest parts of farming is figuring out which are the best channels to market and sell your produce. This session will explore different methods for marketing produce, and will try to answer questions such as the following: to CSA or not to CSA? Are farmers’ markets worth the frenzy? At what point do I take the wholesaler/distributor plunge? What’s in it for me in selling direct to retailers? We’ll hear from a wholesaler, a grower/shipper, a retailer who buys direct and through other channels, and from a grower who has seen considerable success by marketing their produce through their CSA.
