Discussion Group: Organic Farmers and the Green New Deal: What Do We Want It To Look Like?

The Green New Deal - an emergency mobilization to address economic inequities and reverse our march toward catastrophic climate change. Continual farm crises affect all but the largest farms and direct marketers, keeping earnings low and farmworker wages embarrassingly below our ideals. A Green New Deal replacing cheap food policies with parity and supply management and regenerative farming practices would benefit organic farmers. Organic practices can mitigate climate change. Let’s talk about what we want in a Green New Deal for 21st century organic farming!
