Mark Squire will discuss his 50 years in retail organic food. Beginning in 1969 he and his brother developed one of the first organic food businesses, Good Earth Natural Foods. Mark developed retail organic food stores, co-authored the first organic foods law, and was active in multiple trade associations for organic production. He is a leader in the anti-GMO movement and multiple organic organizations, was a pioneer of projects for organic food in schools, and much more. Kalita Todd and Amigo Cantisano are going to detail their nearly 50 years of activities in the organic industry, including EcoFarm, food co-ops, retail stores, farm supplies, regulations for organic foods, and the founding or co-founding of 16 projects related to organic farming and food. And look, they are still friends!
