Desired Personal Traits:
Excellent communication. This position will need to communicate clearly and respectfully within a small, tightly knit team, including setting and upholding clear expectations of quality and efficiency.
Strong attention to detail. This is a leadership position and will be setting the standard for the rest of the crew. While speed and efficiency is certainly important, this position will require a higher level attention to detail to ensure our quality standards are met and communicated with the rest of the crew.
Excellent organizational skills. Farms are complicated beasts and without a solid system of organizing tasks or other items, can be absolutely overwhelming. You will need to develop your own organizational systems and also work within the farm’s existing systems.
We are looking to hire a position as soon as March 15th. This position will be full time (average 40hrs/week) during our primary season from March through November, then part time (20hrs/week) from December through February, with flexibility in the winter months for extended time off.
Hours are typically 8am to 5pm with an hour for lunch, however some flexibility is required as the seasonal nature of farming may require more than 8 hour days during peak season, and less than 8 during the shoulder seasons.
Compensation is $18-20/hr. depending on experience.
