2022 BIODYNAMIC FARMING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
AT THREE SPRINGS COMMUNITY FARM
In Bodega, Sonoma County, California
Three Springs Community Farm Foundation will be hosting seven students for our full time, year-long Farm Apprenticeship Program for the 2022 season (start date negotiable between the new year and February 14th; end date negotiable between Mid December and February). The Apprenticeship Program takes place on a beautiful and secluded 80-acre ranch & Biodynamic Farm, in Sonoma County, California between the towns of Freestone and Bodega.
The Three Springs Biodynamic Farm Apprenticeship offers a structured curriculum of study in regenerative, Biodynamic and spiritual farming practices, along with hands on learning, guided and mentored by a veteran of on-farm education (running apprenticeship and internship programs since 2000). Through close mentoring, our Apprenticeship offers an opportunity to gain mastery in all aspects of our diverse farm, including nursery work, vegetable production, animal husbandry, farm carpentry, irrigation, forestry & trail work, tending perennial plantings and farm planning, all with an emphasis on the Biodynamic practices given by Rudolf Steiner in the Agriculture Course and other lecture cycles. One Apprentice will specialize in Farm Based Education & Campground Facility Care. Our Farm Apprentices are also important leaders in their own right, helping to mentor school group visitors, high school students, and volunteers. Through study and action, we will learn together how to support the farm and all its' inhabitants, so it can in turn support our community of farmers and eaters.
Our financial aid program offers tuition assistance, as well as living stipends of up to $800 per month for qualifying students. Program tuition is approximately $20,000 per year. Program costs should not be seen as an impediment to qualified applicants. On-site housing and farm produce are also provided. The Apprenticeship Program is a full time, five day a week, year-long vocational training with three break weeks throughout the season. Additional requirements include a deposit, returned upon successful completion of the program, and proof of health insurance coverage. If you wish to receive an Apprenticeship application please inquire via email to Willow Summer at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will be accepted until the program is full. (To reduce administrative tasks we do not currently have a web presence).
