About us:
The HEAL Project (THP) runs unique, hands-on, programming on the San Mateo
County Coast in school classrooms, gardens and at the San Mateo County
School Farm. Our programs cultivate healthy lifestyle habits in students while
inspiring environmental and agricultural awareness through a comprehensive,
interactive curriculum.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Marketing and communication (25%)
o Maintain and update website; manage social media accounts
o Create and update marketing materials (brochures, banners, flyers,
stickers) and annual reports
o Design email campaigns and newsletters; manage blog
o Collect and organize photos, stories and anecdotes to share with
the THP community

● Fundraising (25%)
o Maintain accurate donor database to track donations and donors;
generate donor reports
o Maintain positive donor relationships through timely
o Prepare direct mailings for fundraisers
o Assist in annual fundraising events

● Financial (25%)
o Review monthly financial reports for accuracy; prepare monthly
financial reports in Excel for presentation to board of directors
o Accurately track grant-funded expenses for compliance
o Prepare financial planning tools such as matrix maps and graphics
o Assist with budget preparation

● General administration (25%)
o Develop, implement and improve operational policies and
procedures; identify and address problems and opportunities for
the organization
o Act as a point of contact for THP, answering phones and
maintaining correspondence
o Maintain accurate files and records; keep Google drive organized
o Collect and organize statistics and other data for reporting
o Supervise Administrative Assistant and interns as internship
program requires

Education & Experience: 

Basic Eligibility:
● Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United
● Have a high school diploma/GED
● Test negative for Tuberculosis
● Pass fingerprinting & DOJ background check to work with children

Required Qualifications:
● Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to
multitask and prioritize work
● Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and attention to detail
● Strong initiative and desire to learn new skills and information
● Experience with Google platforms, experience creating and manipulating
spreadsheets, comfort learning new technologies
● Skilled communicator, both written and verbal

Preferred experience and Desired qualifications:
● Financial literacy (esp. for nonprofit financials), basic bookkeeping
experience, expense tracking experience
● Experience with marketing and/or graphic design
● Experience with database management
● Interest in food justice and regenerative agriculture

Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel independently to and from THP’s Half Moon Bay office.

Typical Mental & Physical Demands:
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a
keyboard, photocopier and other office equipment. Requires range of hearing
and eyesight which permits one to communicate with other THP staff as well as
maintain office documents. Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment is also
