The Manhattan Country School Farm is seeking candidates for its Farm-Based Education Intern for the 2022-23 school year. The MCS Farm, located in New York’s Catskill Mountains, is the rural campus of Manhattan Country School, a diverse and progressive elementary and middle school in New York City.
The Farm-Based Education Intern consists of two overlapping parts: a residential component that includes overnight responsibilities and some kitchen duties. An educational component which includes participation in our teaching program run by our Farm Faculty.
Applicants should be eager, positive, mindful, and patient. An MCS Farm intern must possess the ability to work collaboratively with both children and adults. Candidates should be comfortable working outside, rain, snow or shine.
The Farm-Based Education Intern is supported by the Farm Director and mentors. The intern will gain incredible, hands on experience while making a positive impact on the lives of others.
Candidates must be at least twenty one years old, possess a valid driver’s license, and have current First Aid and CPR certification. Due to the rural location, a car is recommended.
The internship begins August 1, 2022 and ends June 30, 2023. A stipend of $12,000. for the year, along with room and most meals are provided.
