Coyote Family Farm is a 2-acre intensive market garden located in central Sonoma County. We use ecological, low-till methods to grow a diverse array of produce for our farm share (CSA), farmers market, and some local wholesale. We also grow a small quantity of flowers, and raise a small flock of laying hens. The farm is located on a larger property of beautiful pastureland and oak and bay forest. We emphasize quality and consistency, efficiency, a positive work environment and good communication. We love the challenge of continuous improvement of the whole farm system for the well-being of the land, the people who work here, and the farm business.
Compensation includes hourly wage, housing, produce and eggs.
This is a full-time, live on-farm position March-November, working with the field manager and farm manager/owner.
We eat lunch together daily. We have weekly team meetings and monthly or bi-monthly performance review meetings to organize our work efforts and stay in good communication.
The farm property is also home to families with kids and other non-farm employees, and we enjoy a warm community environment with some activities like monthly potlucks and meetings, weekly meditation, and other events.
Farm hands performing a full spectrum of farm tasks:

Bed preparation (by hand and with two-wheel tractor)
Transplanting and direct seeding
Egg operation: Feeding, monitoring, moving coop/fencing, cleaning, collecting eggs, maintaining systems.

There is the potential for the right person to take on management of an area of farm operations; particularly the egg operation and/or greenhouse management, in addition to working on the crew.
There is also the potential for a candidate with maintenance skills to work 2 days/week on the ranch at a higher hourly wage.
