Trillium Wood Farm is looking for passionate and driven people who want to work part-time on our farm and/or represent our business at farmer's markets! There is the option to perform both of these roles or just one. We are a pasture-based livestock and poultry farm in Williamston, MI, owned and operated by sisters Allie and Elise.
Farm workers will help us part-time on farm chores and projects during the week or over the weekend starting in May. Compensation is $12/hr.
Farmers market staff will represent us at one or more of our weekend farmers markets in lower MI that we attend May-October! Compensation varies based on market attended, but we have a $100/day minimum.
You will be responsible for either assisting with farm chores or performing them solo, once we have trained you. Duties include feeding and watering animals, operating a tractor and bobcat skidsteer, and minor repairs and projects. Communication is key! We expect you will be able to notice and communicate with us any issues you see arise as well as changes to your schedule in advance.
Farmer's Market Staff:
Duties include packing up for market (and ability to lift 60-80 lb coolers), driving to and from market, setting up at market, representing our business well, and communicating with us any high/lowlights from the day we need to be aware of. Punctuality, dependability, and trust with money are all musts!
Farm experience preferred for farm hands. Basic operating knowledge of equipment is helpful!
Farmer's market staff will ideally have experience interfacing with the public, but not completely necessary for the right candidate.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org detailing your interest in sustainable agriculture and why you would be a great fit!
