Colonial Gardens & Colonial Farms is a growing retail garden center and agritourism destination in Blue Springs, MO. We have an immediate opening for a Farm Manager who has the ability to oversee the daily operations of our fruit and vegetable production and livestock farm. The right person will be results driven, hardworking, and passionate about growth. Most of all, they will be an evangelist of the local food movement and will love to tell the story of our company and its role in the movement through educational opportunities with our customers.

The right candidate will have experience in some or all of these areas:

Daily feeding of livestock and perform specialized processes such as milking and shearing
Administrating prescribed medical treatments and vaccinations
Crop planning (greenhouse and outdoor)
Administrative ability over inventory of supplies and feeds
Willingness and ability to provide educational information to the public regarding the farm’s attractions
Experience in specialty agriculture

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Key Responsibilities: 
Lead, Manage & Hold Accountable – ensure the work gets done while driving accountability in a small team
Planning & Execution – production planning, crop and livestock rotation, purchasing, planting/harvesting
Customer Engagement – interacting with the public through educational opportunities

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
This work takes place in an outdoor, farm environment. Extended time may be spent in extreme heat or cold. Work may involve long days and occasional night work as season or animals dictate 
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Stand for long periods, squat, climb, and preform repetitive tasks such as trimming.  

Salary: $50,000-$75,000 yearly
