Farm Manager at Little Wing Farm - 18956

We are looking for a crew leader/farm manager to help us out with the rest of this season and potentially into the future!
Little Wing Farm is a 3acre bio-intensive, organic, year round operation. We grow a wide variety of vegetables and also a 1/2 acre of flowers for market bouquets. Our name is derived from the flock of quail we raise for eggs. All of our produce and flowers are sold from our very busy roadside, honor system farmstand in Point Reyes Station, serving a loyal local clientele and the many tourists that visit the area from the wider bay area and around the world.
We are looking for someone not only with some real production farming know-how under their belt, but also some management or leadership experience.
The farm manager works closely with Little Wing's founder and farmer, Molly, to crop plan, manage and schedule the weekly tasks, delegate jobs to crew members, over see crew work, give feedback and help cultivate skills and crew knowledge. About half of the field cultivation is done with a tractor and the other half with a walk behind BCS tiller. Familiarity with one or both is a plus but not necessary.
We are a small tight knit crew that works closely together so the farm manager should be able to gel with the crew, be motivational, supportive and help tend a positive atmosphere.
In addition to managing and engaging in field work, the farm manager is responsible for recording harvest, seeding & planting, and seasonal tasks.
This is a dynamic and exciting position with a good deal of responsibility, opportunities to learn and further your farming skills and advance at the farm.
Compensation begins at $20/hr for a 4 week trial/training period and then moves up to $25/hr
