Farm Programs Director
The Mission of Transplanting Traditions Community Farm (TTCF) is to provide refugees access to land, healthy food and agricultural and entrepreneurial opportunities. TTCF works with refugees that left Burma as a result of war and have come to North Carolina to rebuild their lives. Transplanting Traditions is looking for a dynamic individual to help manage and oversee the TTCF small business development programming while also helping to launch a new initiative to replicate the TTCF farm incubator model to include refugee and immigrant farmers in adjacent counties. This new initiative will diversify and expand refugee marketing opportunities and expand TTCF’s existing aggregated customer management and food distribution services through the formation of the Transplanting Traditions Producer Hub (TTPH), which will support the growing network of refugee farmers throughout North Carolina.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Ensure that all organizational programs and projects accomplish goal and objectives
Ensure that each project site has functional farm infrastructure in place to carry out objectives
Oversee and monitor activities for each project and program and relevant grant
Collaborate with staff to develop new programs and strategies and improve and grow programs
Recruit, train, manage, support, supervise and evaluate major project and program staff
Monitor program/grant budgets and identify resources needed outside of budget
Uphold and ensure program staff and project partner compliance with all policies and procedures
Cultivate, leverage and develop partnerships to support programs and projects
Provide agricultural and programmatic technical support to program staff as challenges arise
Ensure development of agricultural educational curriculum and trainings for farmers
Ensure communication between multiple project partners, and all program team members
Ensure programs and projects align with mission, vision and values
Coordinate, plan and facilitate program and grant specific project team meetings
Ensure all projects and programs are tracking data based on grant and organizational measures
Compile quarterly and annual reports on progress

Education & Experience: 

Agricultural production and marketing knowledge and experience; specifically direct to market experience and innovative marketing strategies that cater to refugee/immigrant farmers
Experience teaching agriculture, farming and marketing skills is ideal but not required
Ability to bring a food justice/equity lens to all aspect of work, partnerships and relationships
Experience overseeing and managing staff and coordinating multiple organizational partners/sites
Marketing and sales skills and experience
Proficient English grammar and spelling, strong written and spoken communication skills
Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft and Google programs
High level of organizational skills required and strong attention to detail
Previous experience in the nonprofit or equivalent sector is great but not required
Ability to foster a positive team environment
Experience working with diverse populations and communities esp. refugee/immigrant

Time commitment: 40 hours a week.

Salary & Benefits: $45K-$50K range based on experience, includes full healthcare coverage and 30 days of paid time off annually
