Job Description: 

Capay Valley Farm Shop seeks a passionate, positive, and engaged individual to manage our sales. The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving the sales goals established by the management team while ensuring the highest level of customer service. The Sales Manager will work closely with our General Manager, our Purchasing Manager, and a dynamic team of employees to improve core services and drive the organization's next phase of growth. The position is part-time (20-30 hours/week) with the option to work remotely. There is an opportunity to grow into a full-time position by building our relationships with existing and new customers.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities
~ Participate in weekly management team telephone meetings and quarterly in-person meetings to coordinate and implement strategic activities
~ Communicate with customers and other managers in a timely and effective manner
~ Maintain contact lists, content management, and prepare electronic communication including twice-weekly Farm Order Guide availability emails to customers
~ Track and analyze sales activities and trends to meet established sales goals
~ Manage and update customer relationship management (CRM) software
~ Contribute ongoing improvements to streamline procedures and ensure efficient systems for customers and management team

General Qualifications
~ Excellent written and oral communication, experience in customer service, relationship-building, or otherwise engaging with the public
~ Working knowledge of the seasonality of fruits and vegetables, experience in food service, the produce industry, and/or local agriculture preferred
~ Knowledge of the Capay Valley region
~ Eager to communicate business values, mission, and services offered
~ Commitment to exceeding the customer's expectations
~ A desire to learn and contribute to the success of the business as well as the farms and ranches we represent
~ Excellent computer skills and ability to pick up on new software systems
~ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
~ Exceptional attention to detail and consistent with follow-through
~ Comfortable and competent working remotely; self-directed and accountable
~ Access to a computer with Internet

Education & Experience: 

Compensation and Benefits
~ Compensation is hourly ($18-20/hour) based on qualifications, experience, and fit
~ Mobile phone stipend
~ Weekly produce share
