Based on menus developed for the EcoFarm Conference and ingredient lists determined by the Asilomar chef, the Food Program Coordinator will acquire donations of largely locally produced and organically grown/raised foods for the 43 annual EcoFarm Conference. The coordinator will work from EcoFarm’s extensive database of prior food donors, and will coordinate transportation to the Asilomar conference grounds. They will also have a small budget for purchasing ingredients that have not been donated.
The Coordinator will coordinate closely with the Asilomar Conference Grounds chef, and is expected to be on-site at Asilomar for 2-7 days prior to the start of the conference to manage deliveries, as well as during the conference to be held January 18-21, 2023.
The coordinator will also work closely with other staff, contractors, and volunteers, sourcing and handling deliveries of foods for special events, such as the wine tasting and various receptions.
This position could be either a temporary staff position (not eligible for vacation or health insurance, but for holidays and sick leave), or a contract position. Five hundred hours over the course of September 1 through February are allocated for this position, at $27 to $30/hour. It’s expected that full time will be required during or before the conference time. The Coordinator can work remotely in California, but ideally can be in Santa Cruz on occasion throughout the fall.
