Olden Organics is a 100 acre certified organic farm and processor. Supplying a variety of wholesale accounts from independent grocers and co-ops to schools and other institutions with both raw vegetables and cut processed vegetables. We are looking for an experienced/motivated individual to be a working manager of our 11 greenhouses (1/2 acre) and our field herbs and greens production (3/4 acre).
This manager position will work well independently or leading a crew in preforming all tasks related to the production of all plant starts for the farm and the planning, prepping, planting, maintaining, irrigation, ventilation and harvesting of year around greenhouse production and field production of herbs and greens. This position requires great attention to detail, exceptional critical thinking/problem solving skills and a passion for plants. A self-motivated, positive attitude and the ability to motivate others is also important.
Compensation: $17.50 - $25.00/hr BOE
Paid Vacation after six(6) months.

This position will require record keeping for annual reporting and inspections. Good leadership skills. Leading by example is critical to our success. This is accomplished by demonstrating how to complete job tasks. It also means motivating individuals to maintain productivity, pace and rhythm thru positive reinforcements.
Other job duties will include, but not limited to greenhouse/field preparation, planting, plant care and health, cultivation and fertility management, irrigation and harvest. Job will include tractor and equipment operation as well as basic understanding of checking over power tools before and after operation and notify farm manager of needed maintenance. Also basic greenhouse repair/maintenance and communication of issues that require greater maintenance/repair. This position will require the ability to lift 50lbs.
This position will average 45 hours per week. Longer weeks will spike in late spring/early summer and again in fall and the two week period leading up to Thanksgiving. Lighter weeks in the winter will be 30-35 hrs with longer weeks in peak season being 50-55 hrs.
Three (3) to Four (4) years experience on sustainable diversified vegetable farm(s).
With One(1) to Two(2) years management experience.
Sustainable agriculture/horticulture degree is a bonus, but field experience is weighted more heavily.
