Open Field Farm is a diversified, biodynamic family farm located on 560 acres in West
Petaluma. We grow mixed vegetables, flowers, herbs, and grains, as well as raise grass-fed
beef cows, lamb, and laying hens for our 100-member CSA program. We are searching for a
crew member to help with the harvest and upkeep of the 3 garden spaces dedicated to
medicinal/culinary herbs, annual cut flowers, and perennial herbs and flowers (about an acre
total) during the height of our harvest season.

May-August (exact dates flexible)
Schedule
Monday-Friday 7am-4pm
1 hr unpaid lunch noon-1pm
Compensation
$16/hr + a full CSA share including veggies, beef, and eggs
You will be assisting the main herb gardener and the main flower gardener with the following
tasks:
-seed sowing
-hand transplanting
-hand weeding and hoeing
-pruning/dead-heading
-harvesting
-preparing herbs and flowers for drying
-tidying the herb room and flower drying areas
-other general maintenance and upkeep of spaces
-Enthusiastic about flowers, herbalism, and plant cultivation (no previous work experience is
required)
-Good physical condition for extended amounts of outdoor labor in all weather conditions,
including heat and strong wind
-Able to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, shovel, rake, lift & carry 50 lbs
-Able to carefully follow instructions
-Reliable and timely
