For The Wild preserves and strengthens the integrity of Earth’s natural communities through land conservation and ecological restoration. Powered by community efforts and bioregional native plants nurseries, its work centers around the reforestation and diversification of degraded landscapes, informed by Traditional Ecological Knowledge. For The Wild conducts ecological research to improve restoration techniques and to adapt them to our rapidly changing climate and human landscape.

The 1 Million Redwoods Project + Native Species Nursery

At our onsite native species nursery, the land manager and nursery assistant will help in the early stages of bringing this project to life. We just raised over $125,000 on our very successful Kickstarter project and are gearing up to plant millions of redwood trees and the entire forest ecosystem in devastated landscapes all over Cascadia.

We are part of an organization looking to partner educational information and tangible action, so this person will also be involved in numerous grassroots movement building and educational projects.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Starting ASAP! Room and board included.

Education & Experience: 

Tree growing, nursery work, plant production/ propagation, skills with agriculture, skilled communicator, rustic living, team player, flexibility.
