6 acre permaculture market garden seeks live-in landscaper, gardener, farm hand, and all around handy person to help keep grounds beautiful and food in abundance. 20-25 hours a week required depending on your schedule and goals. An adorable tiny home with full amenities, farm surplus, and a convenient and peaceful property to live on are all offered in exchange for your labor and skill.
This is physical work so you must be able to lift 50 lbs and be willing to work regardless of hot or rainy days. This person should also not be queasy about catching pests (setting traps) or having to shovel manure.
There is absolutely no smoking OF ANY KIND, this is a deal breaker.
Taking direction from the Garden Manager, your role is to weed, mulch, irrigate (includes tune-up, repair & troubleshooting), harvest, mow, compost, animal/plant/tree care, prune, rake, seed, amend, maintain fencing, property, build, clean-up, etc. Basically, all duties involved in creating and caring for a 6 acre permaculture food forest homestead. This role is Tuesday-Friday, from 8am-1pm, with some flexibility available. While the duties are all shared responsibilities, this person would generally work half the time alone and half the time alongside 1-3 others depending on the projects and seasonal needs.
A passion for permaculture. Related education and/or experience required.
