The Peace Garden is a restorative and therapeutic environment, illustrating a variety of different healing modalities. The gardens demonstrate an intentional and wholistic relationship with the land. Through organic and biodynamic gardening practices, we help to nurture a wide variety of native and adaptive plants alongside edible and medicinal herbs, providing a beautiful botanical experience throughout the seasons. We offer guided tours and garden workshops throughout the season which help to educate and strengthen connections between people, plants and soil life around us.
We are seeking dedicated, hard-working, high-energy individuals in alignment with our ethics of service and community.
Position is 20-30 hours/week, seasonal work. Flexible scheduling with opportunity for more or less commitment as the season evolves.
- Previous gardening, landscaping or farming experience desired, as well as a strong work ethic
- Knowledge and interest in organic landscaping and gardening methods
- Interest or experience in permaculture and biodynamics a plus
- Physical ability to lift 30+lbs, work outside in the elements, and love of nature
This assistant will help in small scale landscape operations such as maintenance and installation of our consciously developed Peace Garden. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, has ability to clearly follow directions, is motivated, and not afraid to get a little dirty! The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding to care for garden areas to a high caliber, and an eager willingness to learn and work hard! Tasks include soil cultivation, harvesting and processing medicinal herbs and edible plants, bed preparation, herbaceous landscape installation, creation of compost, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, harvesting, pruning, and other various garden related tasks.
Experience and interest in Permaculture and Biodynamics a plus, though not required
