We’re looking for a motivated, reliable and skilled professional to join the Community Services Department for the position of Recreation Coordinator at Deer Hollow Farm with the City of Mountain View. You will join a fast-paced, dynamic team environment, use your livestock husbandry skills to provide care for farm animals that provide education and enjoyment for the community. You will also coordinate various programs at the City’s 10-acre Deer Hollow Farm located at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve near Los Altos Hills.
The Recreation Division is responsible for providing activities to facilitate social/community connections, advance lifelong learning, and promote healthy lifestyles. Daily hands-on care of farm animals
Livestock tracking, budget monitoring and caring for demonstrative vegetable gardens
Support the Farm’s environmental education program including existing school year classes and summer camps for over 5,000 youths
Supervise and train volunteers
Assist with maintenance projects such as daily maintenance of animal stalls, garden upkeep, and assistance with construction of farm related buildings and structures
One year of community service program coordination experience (preferred)
Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation administration or a closely related field
Experience in animal husbandry including feeding, cleaning, breeding, and providing minor medical assistance to farm animals
Current Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP).

Department Interview- Select candidates who pass the oral board interview may be invited to meet with staff from the Community Services Division, tentatively scheduled for February 11th, 2022, for a more in-depth discussion regarding the position(s) of interest and their qualifications. Interviews may be conducted virtually, or in-person following social distancing and all applicable COVID-19 related protocols.
