Santa Cruz CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farming Training) is a free mentoring program for apprentices, beginning farmers, and the farm-curious. Dear Friends of Amigo Bob, As many of you may know, Amigo is fighting for his life against Stage Four HPV-related Neck Cancer. He seemed to be healing it over the past 2 1⁄2 years using integrative therapies, but recently the cancer has grown significantly and the alternative practices need to be supplemented with a more intensive regimen. Hopefully he will begin treatment at Stanford soon, using an innovative clinical trial of immunotherapy instead of the chemotherapy/radiation that can be so damaging and carries the possibilities of permanent side effects. We are pleased to present the 37th annual EcoFarm Conference art, illustrating the theme of "Cultivating Diversity". Artist Alison Main was born and raised on her family's small farm, Good Humus Produce, in Northern California. She quickly developed a curiosity for all things not found on the farm. From an early age, she loved the human figure, and spent most of her time drawing people from magazines, comic books, as well as her imagination.
