Job Description: 

Camphill Village Minnesota(CVM) is home to about 50 community members including adults who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. In this community, people live and work together on a farm and 525 acres of biodynamically nourished land. CVM is a non-profit organization and part of a worldwide movement. We are looking to grow and take on new energy, projects, and people. Our community is deeply rooted in the belief that every individual, regardless of limitations, is an independent, spiritual being. Each person is part of the fabric of our Community experience and is worthy of recognition, respect and honor.

Each person that lives in the community contributes by working on the land, in work places, in the family-style homes and by caring for others. Workplaces offer meaningful work for all members and focus around practical skill building, self-expression, and sustaining the village. All skills can be appreciated and useful. Our current work includes gardening organically, biodynamic farming, cooking, baking, preserving our harvest in a commercial kitchen, doing arts, basic land care, cleaning, woodworking, weaving, and caring for the homes. Duties & Responsibilities: 

Each home includes 3-4 caregivers or ”Coworkers” and 3-4 adults who have a developmental or intellectual disability. Coworkers are responsible for the wellbeing of those they live with. This could include doing personal cares, cooking, cleaning, emotional support, social outings, and caring for housemates who have a range of abilities. Each house community functions as a family and contributes to the social, spiritual, and work life of the community. Four days per week Coworkers lead one of the many workplaces for two 2.5hr shifts and are active in the home life. These coworkers come to the village from all over the world as single people, couples, and families in whatever form they come.

Education & Experience: 

-Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
-High School Diploma or equivalent required
-Direct care experience preferred
-Valid Driver’s License
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to lift 30 lbs
-Ability to perform well in environment that requires compassion, helpfulness, patience, and resourcefulness
-Willingness to learn
-Must be able to pass a background check
