First Weekend in October

The Hoes Down Harvest Festival is dedicated to honoring and promoting the knowledge of agricultural arts and sustainable rural living through inspiration and education. Our goals extend beyond the weekend of fun and education.

For over 30 years, the Hoes Down has generated valuable resources for local and statewide organizations working on projects that benefit sustainable agriculture and rural communities.

Sunday, October 5, 2025 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Join EcoFarm and Hoes Down Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 5 for our Open Farm Day. This event offers attendees the chance to visit small farms and attend workshops throughout the Capay Valley. Participating farms include Dragonfly Ranch, Vitis & Ovis, Capay Valley Lavender, Grumpy Goats, Capay Hills Orchards, Polestar Farms and Taber Ranch.

This event features fruit tasting and buying of fresh produce from local small farms. Many participating farmers specialize in growing delicious varieties of nectarines, peaches, plums, pluots, apriums, and apricots. Kid-friendly activities as well as food and beverage booths make this an educational and fun event.
